WHAT IS AWE?

Often described as a PTO for the arts, Arts in Western Education (AWE) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that serves the arts programs in six public schools in the western part of Albemarle County, Virginia. AWE seeks to support arts initiatives by providing funding, hosting events, and fostering an arts community that empowers students to express themselves and develop their individual creative strengths.

AWE is a collection of passionate and energetic parents who partner with incredible arts educators and students. Serving Brownsville, Crozet, Ivy, and Murray Elementary Schools, along with Henley Middle and Western Albemarle High School, AWE is dedicated to supporting these schools' arts programs today while helping to ensure their strength and sustainability for years to come.
