GRANTS IN ACTION
In just the past few years, AWE has awarded over $84,000 in grants directly into the arts programs across the six Western Albemarle schools.
2024-25: 16 grants awarded, for a total of $15,593, plus AWE purchased a sound shell for the WAHS stage for an additional $15,005.

2022-23: 13 grants awarded, for a total of $20,691
2019-20: 11 grants awarded, for a total of $11,202
2018-19: A total of $9,836 awarded to arts teachers

$1600 Concert bass drum for WAHS (to replace the one from the 1970s!)
$ 600 32” Timpani for Henley Band
$ 180 Honorarium for a guest artist to visit Henley 8th grade art classes
$ 824 Kiln fired clay and clay supplies for Ivy Elementary visual arts
$ 402 Funds to help support research projects and displays about classical composers in Ivy Elementary music classes
$1300 New percussion mallets for Crozet Elementary music classes
$1500 Orff instruments and stands for Crozet Elementary music classes
$ 600 Art wire for 5th grade art projects at Crozet Elementary
$ 300 Liquid gold glazes for ceramic projects at Crozet Elementary
